We have a very annoying, intermittent problem with our 3500. Paper is jamming from trays 2 or 3. We haven't changed the paper and the roller (if that's the small grey rolling thing in both trays..?) in tray 3 has been replaced within the last couple of months. I've just checked the roller in tray 2 and it's looking much more worn than the one in tray 3 - could this be the problem..? We are not getting any errors on the screen, it just says paper jam.

Help because I have 17 members of staff who are pushing me to my limits with winging about this..!!

Thank you..!

Be sure and check that all the guides are on the paper. Earlier models had rear guides that would allow the paper to slide back slightly and not feed properly. Also you might need to check the rollers in the machine (not the ones in the cassettes) for build up of paper dust. Linen style paper is really bad about paper dust and in not a good idea for med to large use. Feed tires can be cleaned with just plain soap and water.

Some earlier feed assemblies used a certain type of gear set-up to drop the tires to the paper, dust build up on the gear or rocker shafts can also be a problem. You can usually remedy this with canned (or compressed) air.

Good Luck
