I posted this back in March 2006 but didn't receive any replies, thought I'd try again.
Whenever the printer is pulling paper from Tray 3 I hear multiple squeaks for each print cycle. If it's pulling paper from Tray 1 or 2 is doesn't squeak.
Any idea on how to resolve this?
Thanks, Russ

If it still squeaks in tray 3 after switching trays, then you need to replace the PIU(paper input unit). The part costs about 60.00 most places and would give you all new pick-up and feed mechanics.Good luck.

If it was grinding then it would been the paper rollers, however it sounds like there lil mouse in there lol only a joke, however I think the mechanics with the Tray 3 needs some sillicon based lubricant.

I fixed this issue once before by taking the piu out and taking it apart. Have to take off the board on one side with all of the screws holding is on. Then just lubricate all of the gears. I wouldn't recommend doing this though. Is there a tray 4? If so, it could possibly be the itb being the issue. If not, then the piu needs replacement.
