I have a customer complaining about squeaky rollers. I read an article in PC World (I think) that mentioned spraying glass cleaner on a sheet of paper, running it thru the machine a couple times, then following it up with a dry sheet of paper. Has anyone heard of doing this? I have a trouble call on this tomorrow morning and thought I'd give it a try.

I read the article too and I don't recommend trying this. You could leave a film of residue on all of the rollers and separation pads, as well as the transfer roller and in the fuser. It could potentially cause more harm than good. If a roller is worn, cleaning it won't help, just replace it. Also squeaking can be caused by many different areas in the printer but generally won't be fixed by altering the suface of a roller.

Thanks for the response. When I went to the trouble ticket this morning, the problem was actually paper jamming and not a squeaky roller.
