a laserjet 1000 came in with faint print on right side. the problem goes away for a couple hundred sheets and then occurs again for no ryme or reason on just a few sheets then everything is fine again. im at a loss.

Did you change the Toner Cartridge?
If you have and it still happens check the fuser if it looks dirty or built up toner it could be going soon.
Other than that I would need more info

the toner cartridge was replaced. the problem only occurs on 1 to 2 sheets per 50 sheets on average.

Check the transfer roller for wear
