Hello Everyone,

I am currently working on a major infrastructure refresh for one of our clients. Unfortunately, the project manager in charge of this project left the company right in the middle and we are trying to pick up the pieces. It seems as if there was no discovery done when quoting out the project and there have been problems every step of the way.

Me and a coworker have been tasked with rolling out the new desktops and thin clients. The client has two locally attached printers that need to be put on the network. They are a Kyocera FD-1120d and a Canon Imagerunner 1025. The problem is that both only have USB connections. The Kyocera appears to have a slot for a Jet Direct card (or whatever the Kyocera equivalent). The Canon does not appear to have the capability to add a network card. The client also happens to have a Imagerunner 1025if which does have a built in network connection. When you compare the 1025 to the 1025if you can see the blank on the cover of the 1025 where the network port is located on the 1025if.

The major headache is the client does not have it in the budget to replace these two machines. Is it possible to add network capability to the Imagerunner 1025 and Kyrocera FD-1120D? Does anyone have any suggestions, ideas, comments, or information regarding this problem? We are an HP shop and have no experience with Kyocera or Canon products.

Any input will be greatly appreciated! Thank you all in advance! Have a great day!

Respectfully,

George D.
