That can be just a temporary error. It is basically a logic error and means the printer is confused by the data.

Turn the printer on and off and repeat the print job.

    If the error returns:

    1. Sometimes this error can be triggered by a certain software program, or by a certain print job. In those cases, updating the printer driver can help. Here's our tutorial on printer drivers: http://www.printertechs.com/tech/tut...lldrivers1.php

    2. Sometimes a failing network card can give you this error. If this printer is hooked to a network via JetDirect card, you might try printing to it via parallel or try an alternate JetDirect cards. Particularly common on printers that have JetDirect J4169A or J6057A cards installed on the back. Here are JetDirect cards: http://www.printertechs.com/jetdirec...ct-gallery.php

    3. Last case scenario -- failing formatter board or DIMM chip. We sell these at PrinterTechs (866-352-7108) and they are fairly easy to change; but I would look at the other possibilities first.

What he said, except to easily tell if it is the printer or the job causing the issue. Remove the network cable from the printer, then cycle the power. If it comes up to ready, it's not the printer.
