Thread: Not recognizing LCT

    Question Not recognizing LCT

I have a LJ 4250 that prints fine from the attached 500 sheet tray but when I install it on top of a 1,500 sheet tray, it doesn't recognize the LCT. I print out a config page and nothing is there. I've tried two different LCT's with the same result. there are other 4250's at this account that have the 1,500 sheet feeder and they of course work just fine. I'm wondering now if it could be the printer..are there any settings within the printer that would affect this or do I possibly have a "bad" DC controller ? Thanks in Advance..Murphy

Have you tried a cold reset? If it has a fixed IP be sure to write it down so you can restore it. Do the trays work on another printer?

Have seen this on a few machines where from the factory HP forgot to "plug in" the OLC connector on the bottom of the printer ... could be just a matter of replugging the connector's cable into the little PCA board ...
