usually there is a small button which the cover presses when closed. Try to find it, press it and try to print to see whether that is the problem.

First try the maintenance instructions before contacting the repair shop ;)

Where did you find what the error code means?

Sometimes the compats/remans are even more efficient than OEMs - more page yield for more customer satisfaction and lower cost per page

What operations do you perform prior that error?

Yep,

just try a compatible ot reman for better pricing. Refilling yourself, usualy is a dirty job and could lead to loosing the printer. Believe me!
