4250dtn spooling problem

We recently replaced our Lexmark printers with HP4250dtn printers. I'm having a problem with the HP printers creating very large spool files. A screenshot snet to the Lexmark spools at 119KB the same screenshot sent to the HP spools at over 5MB. This is causing problem for the users as the application is locked while the file is spooling. It is also causing a jump in CPU utilization on the print server. Any thoughts?

We called in our HP printer rep for a meeting. He brought along an SA who new exactly what the problem was. This is an issue with the MS Spooler service. Documents with imbedded graphics will cause large file creation in the spooler service. The reason that the LexMark driver wasn't having this problem is their driver is a stripped down driver. The SA gave us a similar driver for the 4250 and the file sizes were half of what the LexMark was spooling.
