Boy I love our HP 4000 and am in no mood to replace it! Unfortunately, I seem to have trashed the Tray 1 feeder a couple of years ago printing some thick, rough-textured envelopes. I've been feeding them through one-by-one since then. Now the time of year for big mailings is coming up again, I wonder if there are any tips for trying to fix the roller? grabber? whatever doesn't work. I just tried feeding through some standard #10 envelopes, and it regularly grabs three or four at once if I try putting in a stack of ten. The printer is perfect other than this defect (and has our investment in the duplexer and extra memory)and I guess I'll live with if necessary, but wish I didn't have too... I am in Seattle and wonder if anyone can recommend somewhere to take it if necessary?
Thanks,
Lynne

Check this sight for the repair kit for the MP tray.

Replace the separation pad and roller.

The roller is easy. The separation pad is another story. You probably have the old style pad(where you have to change the whole assembly).

Follow the directions carefully.

Once you upgrade the pad to the new style, the next time is a snap.
