I have a laserjet 6P that suddenly does not operate. It turns on but after the setup, the indicator light stays on the red power signal. Any idea on the problem? The power supply bad?

I don't know much about the printer but I've been repairing one recently. The LEDs will indicate what your problem is. I think you press the power button down and see what LEDs are on. That will give you an indicator that you can check in the service manual: http://www.mischen-is-possible.de/handbuch/6p.pdf

In my case it was the fuser assembly that was the problem. A new assembly cost about €225 w/o installation... I found a new heating element on: http://fuser-centrum.de/ (German site) for €35. I'm installing it now and it seems to do the trick. Anyway, Good Luck!
