Reducing Page count!!!

Is it possible from SNMP or any other way that a page count value of a printer can be reduced? This is strange as one of the printers which notified 5 counts lesser than the previous value. Again, the page counts are fetched from SNMP query using Page count OID .1.3.6.1.2.1.43.10.2.1.4.1.1. Let me know if anyone has come across such behaviour. This was observed in HP LaserJet 4050 printer.

When this printer has certain errors,the page count goes back to the last number ending in zero.Therefore,the page count could "lose"up to nine.
