I am using SNMP query using OID (.1.3.6.1.2.1.43.5.1.1.17.1) to get the Serial Number for printers. For one of the HP LaserJet 3330 printer this OID is not present in the MIB, where as for another printer with same model the serial number OID is present and gets me correct value. Could you please let me know what could be the reason for the first printer not having this OID in MIB?

Thanks,
Raghav

It may have lost it! You can use a PJL comand to re-install it. Hook it up by parallel and edit serial in a dos box. Save, stay in box, and and copy to lpt1.

Thanks for the response. I am trying to understand what you have told. Should I reinstall MIB using PJL command? Since I have never done this earlier, just curious to know in more detailed.

Ok, above instructions are easy to follow, but this printer has no parallel port. Can this be done with a USB port? Or through the JetDirect?

UPDATE: The HP1320 does not have PJL. Is there another way to reset the serial #?
