Hello all and thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide. My LaserJet 4 printer has suddenly stopped printing. I went through the Windows XP printer Troubleshooter, but it still will not print. The only thing I did not do was change the printer cable (as I don't have an extra). I can't imagine that the cable would be bad as it is a Belkin (I believe). The printer goes through the self test, but I don't know what else to test.

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Thank you.

Hmm, these are my favourite budget laser printers, usually very hard wearing.

Sometimes printers can be temporamental with different printer cables, i can't remember the technical term of the top of my head but its worth trying another cable. There are two types of serial cable.

Use the win2000 driver PCL6. Very possible an I\O error. Formatter may be shot.

Before you go thru cables and what not....you never mentioned if the printer will print a test page from the panel. Or an engine test page.
